The fifth annual Farm to Table will be held at Thompson Farm & Nursery on Sunday, September 28th 2014 at 5pm.

Upon arrival, guests will enjoy a cocktail tasting hour while sampling a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres presented by Horry Georgetown Technical College Culinary.

Coastal Uncorked Trio Dinner

Grand Strand locals and visitors to Myrtle Beach both love the Trio Dinner, a showcase of some of the best executive chefs in the region as they partner with culinary students at both the high school and college level.

Executive chefs from a dozen local restaurants will participate, including Myrtle Beach chefs Brad Daniels of Croissants, Tom Pennell of Ruth’s Chris and Casey Blake of Drunken Jack’s in Murrells Inlet.

This is the seventh year of the trio dinner, which serves to support and promote the Myrtle Beach hospitality industry and culinary profession as well as to give students real-world experience and guidance under the watchful eye of a professional executive chef. A portion of the proceeds from the event go to the Myrtle Beach Hospitality Association’s (MBHA) scholarship funds, with more than $20,000 has been raised for the MBHA’s programs since the program began.

The event will include a silent auction, with nearly an array of items up for auction, with the list so far including tickets to Alabama Theatre, tickets for a dinner cruise with Barefoot Princess Riverboat, golf packages, a vacuum cleaner, restaurant gift cards, home furniture and gift baskets. Entertainment will be provided by Coastal Carolina University’s Jazz After Hours and After Hours Combo bands.

Paula Deen to Host Cooking Demonstration at Coastal Uncorked

It was announced recently that the best-selling author, chef and television host, Paula Deen, will be hosting a cooking demonstration at this year’s Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival. The festival will be held from May 8 – 15th, and will be highlighted by Ms Deen’s cooking demonstration on Saturday, May 14th. Paula Deen was quoted to say, “I am looking forward to participating in Coastal Uncorked and visiting the Myrtle Beach area. It is my goal to share my love of southern cuisine with people throughout the country. The cooking demonstration will be a fun event and I am honored Coastal Uncorked asked me to be a part of the event.”
