Attraction Deals Along the Grand Strand


Brookgreen Gardens is just one of many Myrtle Beach area attractions that offer membership packages.

Myrtle Beach has no shortage of things to do and most of them are open all year-long. If you’re a local or you come to the beach frequently, you may want to look into purchasing season passes to these fabulous attractions- especially if you plan on visiting them more than once or twice this year.

Brookgreen Gardens | 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, 843-235-6000
The expansive grounds- 9,100 acres to be exact- at Brookgreen Gardens feature beautiful live oak trees, flowering bushes and hundreds of unique sculptures. It’s also home to great events, classes, historical tours and even a zoo.  They offer single memberships for $60/year or family memberships for $90/year. With individual memberships, you get a member card and two complimentary guest passes food for any single day gardens admission. The family membership offers cards for all residents of your household and two guest passes. Membership benefits include ten percent discounts at the shops, restaurants and tours throughout Brookgreen, reduced rates for Nights of a Thousand Candles and other special events, discounts on 7-day admission for guests, invitations to members-only events, a subscription to the Brookgreen Journal and the Garden Path newsletter and special member-only holiday shopping events.

Children’s Museum of South Carolina | 2501 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, 843-946-9469
The Children’s Museum of South Carolina boasts an extensive list of exhibits and events year-round in Myrtle Beach where children are encouraged to touch, explore, play and learn.  The museum offers a variety of membership opportunities. Passport members receive an e-newsletter with museum events, 10% off at the museum gift shop, special activities and events and 50% off museum events and programs. Family passports can be purchased for $90/year and include unlimited entrance for two named adults and all children within the household plus $3 off admission for additional persons and five one-time use passes to share. A Family Plus Passport is $125/year and also includes ten guest passes plus reciprocal membership for free or reduced admission to more than 200 children’s museums throughout the U.S. Add a nanny or grandparent to your membership for $20/year.

Other passport options are also available. Just for Two Passports are available for $50/year and include unlimited visits for one adult and one child plus $3 off admission for additional guests. The Summer Fun Passport is $60 and is good for two named adults and all children for unlimited visits from Memorial Day through Labor Day and $3 off admission for additional guests. Grandparent Passports are available for $85/year and include unlimited entrance for two named grandparents and all grandchildren plus five guest passes and discounted admission for other guests. The Friends & Family Passport is $125/year and includes unlimited entrance for the passport holder and up to five guests, discounted admission for guests, $50 off birthday packages, five guest passes and reciprocal membership for other children’s museums. Memberships cannot be used for admission with groups or birthday parties.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans | 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, 843-235-6000
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are a Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Season tickets are available for $630 in the field box and $560 in the reserved box or Grand Strand reserved. Season tickets include membership in the Triple Crown Club, your name on the back of your seat, rain-out ticket options and more. Flex books are available for $126 in the field box, $102 in the reserved box or Grand Strand reserved box or $90 for the Budweiser Thirst Inning Deck. Books include 12 undated vouchers good for any game in the 2013 season. Mini plans are also available starting at $39.

Myrtle Waves | 3000 10th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, 843-918-8725
Myrtle Waves is an exciting place to cool off on a warm day. Lounge around in the lazy river or race down the Turbo Twisters. Myrtle Waves offers season passes for $79.99 plus tax. Passes include unlimited visits all season long, bring-a-friend days, 15% off in-park food and merchandise, cabana rental discounts and free parking. The season pass is paid for in less than two visits. Combo passes are also available with NASCAR SpeedPark and Pavilion Nostalgia Park for $149.99 plus tax for a three-park pass or $99.99 for a two-park pass.  The Myrtle Waves passes are good through September 8, 2013. NASCAR SpeedPark | 1820 21st Avenue North Ext., Myrtle Beach, 843-918-8725
NASCAR Speedpark is a race car fan’s dream come true. Buckle up and zip around the tracks then head inside to the 20,000 square foot arcade. NASCAR SpeedPark has a 30 day pass for $39.99 plus tax which includes unlimited go-kart tracks (excluding Thunder Road), mini golf, a rock climbing wall and kiddie rides. They also offer a four month pass for $59.99 plus tax that offers the same perks as the one month pass for 120 days. The two-park pass is available for $99.99 plus tax with admission to either Pavilion Nostalgia Park or Myrtle Waves. A three-park pass can be purchased for $149.99. They include unlimited admission to NASCAR SpeedPark through December 31, 2013.

Pavilion Nostalgia Park & Carousel Park | 1171 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, 843-918-8725
Pavilion Nostalgia Park and Carousel Park bring back the old rides from the former site and give them life at their Broadway at the Beach locations. Kids can spin around on the tea cups and the Herschell-Spillman carousel. Pavilion Nostalgia Park offers a four month pass for $59.99 each plus tax which includes unlimited visits for 120 days to both parks. A 2013 three park season pass is available in combination with NASCAR Speedpark and Myrtle Waves for $149.99 plus tax.

Broadway at the Beach is home to Ripley’s Aquarium. The aquarium has live mermaid shows, a dangerous shark reef, discovery areas, stingrays to pet and tons of aquatic life to see. Ripley’s Aquarium offers annual passes which include unlimited general admission to the aquarium for a full year, discounts to all Ripley’s Attractions in Myrtle Beach, 20% off meals in the Feeding Frenzy Restaurant, 20% off merchandise in the Cargo Hold Gift Shop and discounted general admission to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Annual passes are $49.99 for adults ages 12 and older and $28.99 for children ages 3 to 11. U-PICK Combos are available with aquarium admission plus and one or more Ripley’s Myrtle Beach attractions. Combo ticket prices start at $29.99 for adults and $19.99 for children.

Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park host family-friendly events year-round and are a great way to explore nature. The South Carolina State Parks offer a statewide Park Passport for $75 which allows you and everyone in your vehicle free admission to all South Carolina State Parks for one year. The Park Passport Plus is $99 and in addition to free admission for everyone in your vehicle, you receive free admission to select park programs for up to four people, free admission to Atalaya Castle at Huntington State Park, free weekend admission to the Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival for up to four people and a $10 State Park Service Gift Card to use for park reservations.

Wild Water & Wheels | 910 Hwy. 17 South, Surfside Beach, 843-238-3787
Go crazy at Wild Water and Wheels. They have everything from exciting slides and pools to go karts and mini golf. Wild Water and Wheels offers season passes for the waterpark and combination passes for the waterpark with unlimited go-carts, bumper boats and mini golf. Waterpark passes are $74.95/person and combo passes are $114.90/person. Their website is listing an online sale price for both. Daily admission for the waterpark only is $27.98 (over 48” tall) and $17.98 (under 48” tall). All day full park admission is $37.98 (over 48” tall) and $27.98 (under 48” tall).
