Thing to Do: 2013 Georgetown Wooden Boat Show

This year’s show will feature wooden boat exhibits, a boatbuilding competition, kid’s model boatbuilding, boat raffles, maritime arts & crafts, food and music. These events will take place on the waterfront and in Historic Downtown Georgetown. Money raised through sales and donations will help fund the development of the Harbor Historical Association’s maritime museum.

2011 Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art

Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art has announced the musical performance lineup for the 21st annual event, slated for September 20th – October 2nd, 2011 at Litchfield Plantation.

According to event organizers, the lineup for the 2011 festival promises carry on the annual tradition of bringing exclusive talent to the area that is unmatched by any other event.   “We have spectacular lineup of cultural events and entertainment for the entire community to enjoy,” said Executive Director Delores Blount. “Mark your calendars now to join us in celebrating the 21st season of the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art.”

Enless Summer Festival in Myrtle Beach

Instead of welcoming fall with open arms, the sandy shores of North Myrtle Beach insist on celebrating never-ending warmth with the Endless Summer Festival!

Join us Saturday, October 30th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.  Enjoy lots of arts, crafts and food vendors, huge children’s area, community stage, classic car show and live performances by Sea Cruz at 11:30 am and The Extraordinaires at 2:30 pm.

The entertainment stage will be located at the famous “Horseshoe” at the end of Main Street with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop.

The food vendors feature everything from Philly cheese steaks to fried banana pudding.

Also, enjoy arts and craft vendors lining Main Street with items such as handmade jewelry, coconut lamps, and stained glass pieces.

For the little ones, they  will have a huge children’s area with carnival rides, face painting and community stage.

Local dancers from The North Myrtle Beach School of Performing Arts and The Academy of Dance and Fine Arts will perform on the community stage from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

For all the classic car enthusiasts, check out The Chicora Car Club antique display on Ocean Boulevard, next to the “Horseshoe.” Over 40 cars will be on display throughout the day.  Vote for “People’s Choice” Award, which will be announced at 4:00 pm.

Little River Shrimp & Jazz Festival Schedule

Columbus Day Weekend brings The 6th Annual Little River Shrimp and Jazz Festival to the historic waterfront at 4495 Mineola Avenue. This family friendly festival provides a party-like atmosphere that is fun for all ages.

The off season event attracts locals and visitors to explore the scenic area just North of Myrtle Beach. Jazz music permeates the air throughout the weekend with an eclectic lineup. Other entertainment includes arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities and plenty of shrimp!

The famous Shrimp Cook-off draws a significant crowd and ramps up the hunger pains! Shrimp will be available from various vendors in every possible preparation, but do not fret if you are not a shrimp lover as other delicious treats will be offered.

The weather is perfect for a weekend of festival fun in Little River!

Things to Do: Seacoast Artist Guild Fall Show & Sale

The Seacoast Artist Guild 7th Annual Judged Fall Show & Sale will be held, center court, at the newly renovated Inlet Square Mall, located in Murrells Inlet, October 16 through October 23, 2010.

The show will consist of works done by both professional and non-professional local accomplished and award winning artists. Categories will include Collage, Painted Media (Acrylic, Mixed Media, Oil and Watercolor, Pastel), Photography and 3-D art. Judge and Artists yet to be named. There is no admission fee.

Seacoast Artist Guild of South Carolina, Inc. is a local non-profit art organization with members hailing from all over South Carolina. It is the goal of the Guild to provide art to the community through education, the offering of cultural events and opportunities for its members to exhibit and sell their work.
