Want Pizza? Check Out Pawleys Island Pie Places

The Pizza community in Pawleys Island is seeing a lot of action for the new year with a few relocations and additions.

Two new pizza places have recently opened in the area.

The first, Massey’s Pizza, opened in early December in the Piggy Wiggly complex in the Litchfield area. The new location becomes the 11th location in the Massey’s Pizza chain and only the second to leave it’s starting ground of Ohio. It’s only other location outside Ohio is located in Indiana. Massey’s menu includes pizza, stromboli, subs, salads and a couple of pasta dishes.

Just recently, Gio’s Pizza and Subs opened in Pawleys Plaza (behind Bank of America) on Ocean Highway, which is the same complex as long time restaurant, DeRoma’s Pizzeria. The new owner of Gio’s (Dave Giorlando) recently bought out Pawleys Island Subs & Grill from the previous owners remodeled the store. Like their name, Gio’s will feature pizza and subs on their menu.

But their neighbor, DeRoma’s Pizzeria, is no longer their neighbor. In November, DeRoma’s moved to the next complex north and into a completely remodeled location. As popular establishment, veteran DeRoma’s features pizza, pastas, salads, subs and Italian dishes.
